Asha Murali has close to three decades of experience in the insurance industry spanning across Actuarial, Risk management, Products, Investments and Operations. She is currently a Partner in BDO India and heading the Actuarial Practice. 

She was previously the Chief Actuary and Appointed Actuary and Products Officer at PNB MetLife India Insurance Company Ltd. Prior to this she has worked with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd., as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Actuary and Appointed Actuary. She has worked in senior roles in the Investment Department of LIC of India. 

Asha is a Fellow of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK, Fellow of Institute of Actuaries of India, and CFA from ICFAI Hyderabad. 

She has been closely involved with the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) as part of the Advisory Group on Professionalism and Ethics in the past and more recently the Advisory Group on Life Insurance. She is active in contributing towards the education activities of IAI. She is currently the Secretary of the Council of IAI.
